Crowdsourcing Safety Data for Cities
Our users at dashcam.bike record their entire bike rides using their smartphone camera, our footage-stabilizing phone mount, and our dashcam.bike app. The data collected from this video footage can be used to crowdsource data about a city's bike network, including road quality, bike lane obstructions, and illegal use of bike lanes. We have manual data streams, where users can report individual issues to their city via 311, as well as an automated data stream, where we combine 311 reporting with AI-supported analysis of a road.
The following options are available to municipalities wishing to gain insight into their bicycling network.
